Remember when we were young,
as we abandoned our socks and
shoes, and let the cool green
grass wiggle between our toes?
The sun was warm like a freshly ironed shirt
and we would all join hands
and spin, and spin, till we fell to the ground
laughing while the sky
swirled streaks of blue....
When I was little we had a huge yard. All the neighborhood kids would congregate there and we would play outside until dark. We loved to spin and play airplanes and of course all running barefoot. We had so much fun without computers, video games and very little TV. I am fortunate that our children love to play outside but right now it looks like the middle of January rather than the end of March. Hoping you all have a wonderful, fun, filled weekend....
yes i do...spin me like that now and i will throw up all over you...ha! barefoot is the best....
ReplyDeleteI go barefoot at every opportunity. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI wear shoes....as little as possible. That's what 78-yr-old Peeps DO in south Florida--grin!
ReplyDeleteNo! We do NOT play "Ring Around The Rosie...and all fall DOWN!"
Have a great weekend...
I love to stomp in puddles, but I also have been known to spin and spin and spin until I couldn't stand up any longer. And play dodge ball until there is blood. But I digress...
ReplyDeleteI love to be a kid at heart and have vowed to never lose that. It's a good thing.
Speaking of barefoot....
ReplyDelete(Never Mind Cheeser, thats for another day!)
Loved your cheerfully nostalgic 55 DBG...
You are wishing for nice weather just as we all are.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

thanks for the beautiful reminder.
superb 55.
This is a really lovely 55!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I still refuse to wear shoes!
We used to play Kick the Can or Capture the Flag til all hours of the night - barefoot down in Houston. Just had to watch out for fire ants!
ReplyDeleteI still go bare feet at home!
ReplyDeleteHere is mine:
homing
When I was a kid, I never went inside it seems. I was out running in the fields and woods and yard from sunup to way past sundown.
